But, I think the reason most people send their kids to coaching classes is that they no longer have the time to sit with them and help out. In some cases it could also be a case of competence since syllabi have expanded and upgraded quite a bit since our times. Coaching classes have somehow managed to convince everybody that they are essential to getting ahead in life - with increasing numbers of students appearing for competitive exams (even IIT entrance nos. bear this out) each year, I guess parents get scared and don't want it to seem like they spared any money (effort is another matter altogether) in giving them what they deserved. Btw, my daughter does not attend tuition/coaching classes. <br /><br />I totally buy the argument that children should definitely go out and play. My daughter doesn't miss her play time for anything in the world and we prefer it that way. <br /><br />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
